Griffins
Georgie
Gulzar
In 2010, Lyndale Primary School (opened 1956) and Greenslopes Primary School (opened 1962) merged to become Lyndale Greens Primary School.
Griffins are legendary creatures, with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion, and the head and wings of an eagle, with talons on the front legs.
Having the courage and strength of a lion, and the swiftness and vision of an eagle, the griffin is considered a very powerful creature. The merging of Lyndale and Greenslopes brought together the students, staff, knowledge, expertise and communities from both schools to form a single, stronger school.
Lyndale Greens Primary School is protected by two griffins. Gulzar is the guardian of our Middle and Senior Schools, and Georgie is the guardian of our Junior School. Both share the school colours of Lyndale red and Greenslopes green.
Griffins have been part of mythology across many cultures, including Ancient Iran, India, Greece and Egypt. The legend of Lyndale Greens Primary School has been created by the many cultures of our diverse community.
